I think that we will do a pseudo notebook next year - you?

I am tired of all the pages falling out of DSs binders and having to reinforce the pages. Ithink that we will use composition books becuase they are most durable to take our spelling tests in and do our history narrations etc....
Do I do different colors? I thought about spirals but I bet the pages would end up falling out of those too.

What do you think and recommend?

We used binders but got a huge pkg of top loading clear pages and that worked very well.

we have done both. For things like journaling, spelling, etc.. we use the comp. books

for drawing, drawing/copywork, etc. we use the top loading pages or a spiral bound sketchbook.

For spelling test mine just use loose lined paper. For journaling they use the black composition books that go on sale for .25 cents each. For science notebooking we use 3 ring binders. I like the composition books best, but for science notebooking you really need to be able to add pictures and such, so we stick with the 3 ring binders.

We've been using spirals because that's what we had and when you start hs'ing after the back to school sales you use what you have. LOL I think I'll look into composition notebooks for next year. My dd2 will be happy that we'll be doing back to school shopping for her too. It's always fun getting those new school supplies!

So the binders never end upside down with everything spilling out? 1 protector per sheet or I guees 2, one fron and back? And the same question posed to you Tracey.

Yes, 1 protector sheet per 2 pages so you can just turn the pages like a book and see what work has been done. I do not save everything, only bits and pieces of "good" work. Notebooks with looseleaf paper just do not work for me either!!

The comp. books are great!!!
