I think there is a fairly new group in Moreno Valley, which may make it more difficult to start your own. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the group. It can't be too conservative as I know of a Catholic family that is attending, and I don't think the mom would sign a statement of faith.

I am in the position of trying to revitalize a group (Redlands, which must be too far for you, but we do have a strong AP contingent); we've had several new members join this year. What helped was inviting AP mamas in the area to come join us. Are you a member of AP Inland Empire? I know there are a few mamas in the Riverside/Moreno Valley area, though I don't know if they are homeschoolers.

I would say you should decide what type of group you want (Christian or inclusive), make up some flyers, and hang them at the library, health food store, YMCA, etc. Decide if you want to meet at your home or at a park. Be prepared to sit at the park many days all by yourself, waiting. Eventually, it should work out.

Hey Kimberly, thanks for the reply.
Redlands isnt too far...i was talking Murrieta/temecula which is where i found groups. Redlands is just over the hill I think i saw you guys at the park one day back in May. And i know Autumn and Becky (although not well i only met them a few times...they probably dont remember me) they were in a playgroup i belonged to a couple years back. Anyways, could you pass me along the infor about the group in Moreno (if you have it) I have looked and cant find anything...also i would love to know more about your group. I have joined ALOT of yahoo groups so if you have one of those i might already be a memeber. And also what is Ap Inland Empire?? If i can avoid starting my own that would be better i just dont want to travel too far. Thanks, Mama!!

Our group is mostly AP, and oddly enough I'm one of the few mamas who isn't chasing a toddler around (my boys are 5 and 6). Of the core group the oldest child is almost 7. You're more than welcome to join us sometime.

Here's the onfo on the group in MV:

We're happy to say we have, at last, chosen a park and will have our first
homeschool park day in Moreno Valley on June 14th. We'll be there from
11:30am for friendly homeschool support and for our kids to have loads of
fun!
We've chosen Woodland Park for our first park day. We hope this will be our
permanent home but if it proves unsuitable or unpopular we're open to ideas
from others at park day.
Woodland Park can be found at 25705 Cactus Ave. If you're coming on the 60
freeway and heading east get off at Perris, (actually puts you on Sunnymead)
make a left at the end of the ramp, then a right onto Perris. At Cactus you
make a left and you'll find the park on your right. From 60 West exit
Perris, make a left onto Perris and then follow directions above. If you're
coming on 215 then exit Cactus and head east until you reach the park. The
park is between Kitching and Laselle.
Hope to see you there!
