We use Math-U-See (the old curriculum, they just came out with new stuff and we haven't switched yet) and we LOVE it! My DS really gets it. It's done in what seems like a weird order, but it works and my DS is learning a ton. They use manipulatives similar to cuisinaire rods. Very hands on. Just more food for thought

Developmental Math, a 16 workbook series that only involves me peripherally after the child is reading enough to read the instructions.

When these 16 workbooks are done, the child goes into Saxon Algebra 1/2 or the equivalent. We do the 3-book Saxon high-school series, then our eldest tested in to pre-calculus at the local community college, so that's what he'll do next year.

My mom had me do the Abeka too. Blah! I would have done so much better with something else. I've read and read and read. And. . . have decided to go with Horizons for math. My daughter is 3.5 and ready for K. I have Saxon, Modern Curriculum Press, singapore and Abeka as possibilities in mind for if Horizon doesn't work for her. I think it will though. (We'll see, lol). My mom did let me do the Modern Curriculum Press for fractions when I was struggling and I loved it! I think I would have done well with Saxon as well. Christine memorizes things quickly so I think she may end up being bored in Saxon cause I hear so much about the repetition.

Anyways, that is where we are at.
