xpost a long overdue thank you to rebecca

i wanted to post this online, instead of just emailing you, so other people could check it out if they feel so inclined.

i have to say a huge thank you to you, becca. for finding GBA and, in turn, MPA developmental math. it has been so great for máire, nothing compairs to it - for her. we used everything else and liked it, but she has latched on to MPA in a way that astounds me (and we know how máire is with math). we are about to start level 11 after taking a break for a few months and she is so excited about it. i love saxon and singapore, but like i said, they didnt click with her the way MPA does.

for anyone who hasnt seen MPA (mathematics programs associates) Developmental Mathematics books, you can go here:

http://www.greatpyramid.com/scripts/.../storemain.asp

they are the featured products for this month.

the approach works really well for máire bc each book concentrates on a specific concept, it doesnt jump from addition of 3 unit numbers to fractions in one lesson. with máires learning issues, continuity and some predictability is a must.

for the passed (is it past or passed?? grammar was never my strong point, hence the reason my mom is teaching máire that subject LOL) couple of months i have been wondering if i can keep homeschooling the children, after i have the baby. we have agonized over what we could do and i am finally starting to feel human enough to know that i can certainly handle homeschooling and things like the MPA books for máire make it easy for me.

thank you thank you thank you becca!
now if i can only see you guys sometime...
