I have a ds who just turned 7. He still wets the bed at least 4 nights a week. My doc said not to worry unless it starts to bother him. My uncle wet the bed until he was 13. I have been using the drymids but can't seem to find them anymore. Anyone know of a good cloth pullup for a 55lb + child. My 5yo girl still wets the bed also. Any tips or suggestion anyone can offer would be appreciate.
Thanks,
Brandy

I have had issues with my 6yo... Dh gets up at 5:30am and wakes him to go to the bathroom because I found that in the early morning, ds sleeps really hard and if we wake him, he is fine.
You might want to post this at the market board as well, if you don't mind, it get s the most traffic and if people don't hit "new Post" they may never see it. I bet you will get some better advice there!!!
Hope to see you tomorrow at rehearsal!

thanks for the suggestion Tracey. What time is rehersal tomorrow. I have to work 7p-7a tonight SO it just depends on what time as well as what kind of night I have and how much I get to sleep when I get home.
Hi! When I was little I wet the bed at night until I was 9 or 10 yo. My problem was that I slept so hard that I did not wake up. My parents got some kind of a rubber sheet that went under the regular sheet that when I would start wetting it would send a pulse to me that would kind of shock me just enough to wake me up. It would not hurt just enough to wake me up. It is what finally got me to be able to sleep and not have accidents at night.

UPDATE 1/Oct/2009: I Got In. Holy Crap. I Guess We Are Working On Moving To New Zealand In January 2009!
Kerri - I had one of those when I was younger! I was a bedwetter until almost 10yo, and I don't know if that alarm is what 'broke' me or if Mom just decided to make me go before bed around 10, Dad would get me up right before he left for work at 5:30 a.m., then she'd make sure I was up and on the john again by 8 a.m. (7 during the school year). The alarm isn't what I'd call violent, but I distinctly remember the thing sounding like a really REALLY loud mosquito *right* beside my ear. Annoying, but effective!
To the OP - without going overboard on money or anything, try waking him about every 4-5 hours while he sleeps, and make sure he empties before going to bed. I mean the very last thing before going to bed, should be using the toilet. I'm almost positive now that I've thought about it that that's what Mom did that worked for me (after the alarm didn't wake me a few times in a row) - to this day I sleep like a log but if I feel the call in the middle of the night, I can rouse myself and make it in time. Heck, I still have a weak bladder and I'm only 30
Hyland's makes a bed wetting tablet, but it didn't work that well for us. I've heard other people use them with success. After my DD had her tonsils and adenoids removed, her problem (well it wasn't too bad at that point) pretty much went away. I still wake her up at least once a night and take her to the bathroom out of habit.
My 6 y.o. is also an occasional bedwetter. Did you know that bedwettig runs in the family? Kids will just grow out of it. Just protect the bed and let your child visit the toilet one last time before going to bed. Limiting fluid intake an hour before bedtime could help too.
I had to smile after reading this thread because I just wrote something about it in my blog and my husband commented that it's so embarrassing.

I don't know if this is an option for you, but I strongly recommend a visit to a chiropractor. My youngest brother had bed wetting issues that were resolved with chiropractic adjustment. Both of my daughters also went through periods of bedwetting that were resolved by chiropractic care. We've taken them to our chiropractor since birth, so it was a natural thing to head there when they were bedwetting. Our doctor pinpointed the exact vertebrae that were out and confirmed that the nerves there are associated with bladder fullness acknowledgement.
We had tried limiting fluids and waking up in the middle of the night with little success. Chiropractic worked after the first adjustment.
