venting Nag nag nag, how much does your kid nag you?

Seems that my DD won't let me have a minute to myself lately. I can't watch an hour long tv show without her making noises, standing in front of the TV and falt out yelling "I want attention!!!"

I just don't get it. I'm with her all the time, she's homeschooled for pete's sake. She hadn't been with a sitter in over a year. She's always with either me or her father or both of us. We go places for her, we do things with her that she likes and the more we do the more she wants.

Do all 5yr olds act as if the world revolves around them?

Sounds like my 5 yo. If I am doing something that does not involve him (reading a book to myself, knitting) he basically nags me until I do pay attention to him. It is so frustrating for me! Sometimes I just need time think and not be listening to his constant talking.

He is also an only child, I don't know if this has anything to do with it. He has just always had a very attention seeking personality.

I don't know, but mine is the same around here. He's sucking the LIFE out of me. Not to mention when he's like that i can't handle the other 2! Sorry no advice, just commiseration!!

My son thinks that he is the center of the universe and he's only 3 1/2!

Mine is the same way...drives me insane, especially when I'm trying to sew or do something.

My kids are both convinced that the world revolves around them, and they're nearly 5 and 2 1/2. They play better alone than with each other, though...when they're together without me very close by, they fight. *sigh*
