My newly 3 yo has a fascination with death??

Today he drew a picture for me. I picked him up, hugged him and said, "you're my little artist!" and he said "It's a little dead body!"

Also, he ends every phone call with "Don't Die!"

Weird?

my 3 1/2 year old is going through it too... she told her brother he'll have to die once he turns 100.. and says she's going to die when her kids grow up and have kids and their kids grow up and have kids and their kids grow up and have kids.

I don't quite get it, but I think it's their way of trying to work through things, kwim?

Well I haven't gotten a grip on death yet and I am 31. So I don't think it is weird. He is just trying to work it out in his mind would be my best guess.

Nope, DD is, too (Feb02 PP board )

She'll tell me that her dolls are dead. Cause and effect. Freaked me out at first that things were dying.

DD went through it too.....only time I ever saw DH speachless.....
She said: "Papa, I think we have a problem"
He said: "really, what?"
She handed him the doll and said: "I think she's dead"

Was pretty funny at the time.

see my awesome powers? I dragged so many over here lol

My kids haven't been much into death, even after our dog died. Mary just kept asking when he was coming back. Of course he was 22 and in dire shape most of her life...

When Emily was concerned with it we read a book called Lifetimes. I really liked it --everything has a lifetime.

I'm fine with my own death but that may have to do with my faith, which we are trying to teach the girls as well. Not that I'm looking forward LOL but I"m not scared of it.

It's nice to know, my ds is not the only one obsessed about death at the age of 3. It still freaks me out though. He seems just way too young to be talking to me about things that in reality, I have noanswers to. I want him to be obsessed with life, not death. Aay.

I know. You were quite outspoken. I went back there a few weeks ago and it's still going strong.

I was?? LOL!!

Do you all remember Molly and her little guy Wyatt? I turned her on to Sybermoms and she is one of the high posters !!! She loves it and is Hedwig over there.

I always wondered whatever happened to "Sioux" and her site...

I haven't been to PP in ages.

Remember when the woman who had triplets lost her little guy to Spina Bifida? I'll never forget her and those kids.

Ah, memories.

Molly is such a character. Is it still just Wyatt? Sioux was banned IIRC because she posted a link to her site or something. *That* place is all about rules.

It was Dana (taransmomtoo) that lost Coran. They have a website Tomorrow Starts? Here you go:
http://www.tomorrowstarts.com/pages/5/index.htm Every September I think about him, hold Sky a bit tighter and thank God she is healthy.

I still email occasionally w/Jen who had the twin boys, she lives in Riverside.

Oh, I was docjenni over there.
