Ok, I know my baby hasn't been born yet but I like to arm myself with facts and data first!
I just read in a magazine the general vaxing ages, as follows:
2 months (2 injections) - 1, the five-in-one vaccine: diptheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio & Hib meningitis. 2, Pneumococcal vaccine.
3 months (2 injections) - 1, the five-in-one vaccine as before. 2, MenC vaccine.
4 months (3 injections) 1, five-in-one vaccine again. 2, Pneumococcal vaccine again. 3, MenC vaccine again.
12 months (1 injection) - Hib meningitis again and MenC booster.
13 months (2 injections) - 1, MMR vaccine. 2, Pneumococcal Vaccine again.
Now I totally agree with delaying or non-vaxing (particulary for illnesses that are life-threating or haven't been around for so many years).
But how did you get your OH to agree?
I can just imagine my DH will see this list and worry that there's a concern and our baby needs to be jabbed. And what about the rest of the family? I've already had the old "well, all my children were vaccinated and nothing's wrong with them" speech!
Are any of those vaccines actually
really necessary? Should I pick and choose?
Are there as many vaccines as this in wherever you're from?
So many questions, I'm sorry! It's all so scary! Please advise
