Where are my Summer '06 baby-boom Mamas??

Check in here!! Update us!

Luna is 7 months old already! Crazy!

She's a crawling fool these days and keeping me on my toes, for sure! More and more I am finding her trying to pull up to a stand on the couch and end tables. It freaks me out a bit because 90% of our house is slate or ceramic tiled floors, but so far no big falls. She hangs out on the bed when I fold clothes and will pull up to a stand using the headboard, just can't get back down on her own yet.

She's working on more teeth, and has been fairly clingy this last week or so. Other than that, though, she is pretty happy and smiley.

She is working on the verbal thing and will proudly declare everything "Dah" as she pats it. Lots of loud "Yayayayaya" and "Babababa" sounds with other random sounds thrown in for good measure.

The only time she will really scream and throw a fit is if we eat in front of her without giving her a little something to eat, too. She is not at all into mushy baby foods, though I've tried, she prefers to have small bits of avocado or sweet potato or even bits of bread. She gets solid food, just small amounts, 2-3 times a day and still nurses 5-6 times throughout the day (and 2-3 times at night) She is still doing about 3 naps a day (more if we're running errands, the car puts her right out most times) but some naps are only like 15-20 minutes. She generally goes to bed for the night around 8 and will wake 2-3 times to latch on and sleeps until 7 or so.

I feel like my post-partum wackiness has finally passed, along with the leaky boobs and shedding hair. I feel like my old self again, well, besides the flabby belly syndrome. *lol*

Looks like it was a short nap today, so I have to run!

check in, Mamas! How are the babes? How are you?

We're here.

Jack is 8 months tomorrow. He's quite adept at crawling now, keeping me (ack! Unplugged the carbon monoxide detector and had to go barricade that!) on my toes. He loves the darn fireplace - which is marble - and has conked his head more than his fair share of times. He pulls up on everything, just to his knees sort of standing up and kneeling - but he can stand, if he tries. For a solid month I wanted to wrap him in bubble wrap (or maybe just a helmet) because it seemed like he would never figure out that balance thing.

He's getting better at easing back down, but sometimes if he's tired or being lazy he'll plop over still.

Let's see - he says mamamamama and dadadadadada - sometimes noises that sound like 'Hi" or "Kiss" but nothing defined. It's mostly Dadadada.

Eating, he's not into at all, despite having 8 teeth and working on molars. He'll have a bit of banana or a few grains of rice, a couple cheerios, but nothing out of a jar (he freaks). He doesn't eat table food every day yet, though. He's too busy with other stuff.

Nursing is still going strong, around the clock. He seems to have completely abandoned the sleeping through the night we were so lucky to have when he was small. I suspect it's all the teeth that started waking him up, and now he's just in a bad habit of nightwaking.

He's wearing 12-18s, and some 18-24s. Seems to have virtually skipped 6-12s. His favorite toy is his "buddy" (which is a small-sized sleeping baby in an Anne Geddes bear "costume" - all one piece) and he holds it in his sleep which is the sweetest thing ever.

That's our world
