Oh my poor...

boobs! For some reason Raeghan will not latch right on my right breast. She gave me a blister before my milk came in and now it's popped and it HURTS. She latches perfect and then I can feel her kind of spit out to where she just has the nipple. I think part of the problem might be engorgement - so I got a shield today and am going to use that until it heals and then go from there.

Just came to whine...

Can you get to a LLL meeting nearby? They might be able to look at what's going on with the latch and help

I hear ya. Things weren't "difficult" but they weren't exactly pain-free for us either. 10 days out and I'm feeling good, though. Latch only stings on the right side. If she's having trouble latching on because of engorgement, it might help to hand express into a prefold after she latches on to the left side and when you feel letdown. (I also have been known to pump on that side, until it recovers, to keep up supply).

Maybe the guru Tracey will pop on and have some fabulous advice for you, too!

Try nursing laying on your back, baby on your stomach. Gravity helps if milk is coming too fast.
