getting so bored with the routines

not really looking for too much advice, just trying to vent, i guess.

i have just spent from 5-8:30 doing nothing but cooking and cleaning and nursing...it's getting so old! i have felt so bored and annoyed with the same ole routines every night. cook for us, heat up ds's food, get everyone fed, clean the kitchen, nurse, go in the other room while dh gets ds to sleep (b/c he just screams for me if i'm in sight) and usually cut coupons or clean up the clutter that always seems to come back to my bedroom, come out, finish cleaning the kitchen, pick up all the toys and STUFF that seems to grow in the house all day....blah blah blah. i usually love cooking and find routines a joy to follow for house cleaning and all of that, but this week, i have just been feeling like i am just going to go out of my mind!

doesn't help that i stopped taking domperidone this week and ds has nearly starved to death (back on now!), so he has been soooo edgy and i have gotten less sleep. and then there's my regular frustration with feeling like i need to initiate something intimate with dh, but don't feel like it (i know, another forum! ). i don't know why else. my life is great, but it just feels like it's boring and it sucks right now.

just the difference in milk and the baby being fussy can push you over the edge when things are so labor intensive and routine. I like to cook, but my dh does the evening dishes/pots/pans for me..so it takes a lot of the labor out of it.

can you get some alone time?OR moms nite out!
Write dh a sexy note/email~it might get you in the mood?

I so understand. You need a breath of fresh air.

I know what you mean..I feel bored a lot of the time, too...I'm super busy, but it seems as if nothing ever gets accomplished. I *love* my girls, of course, but I almost feel like I forgot who *I* am..do you feel the same way?

i suggest going for a walk....go get julie & hit the neighborhood! evening walks around here are my sanity somedays. then i try to talk jeff into doing the dishes since i do the cooking......or they can wait til journeys morning nap & cole can help (ew, i know, but i'd rather do laundry anyday over dishes!)

feeling so much better today!

i had a long talk with dh last night after i posted this thread and we got to spend "time" together. both helped. started domperidone again yesterday and ds slept from 8pm-6:30am, his usual. that helped...sleeping, but also emotionally and mentally knowing that he's doing so much better.

dh and i talked about how i really need to think about and do things for myself a little more. he's got a ton of hobbies and is constantly doing things he loves to do even though he works. but i rarely do things that really make me happy in and of myself. i have such a full life. i have something really fun to do with or for other people almost every day. i have a couple of best friends and LOVE spending time with them and their kids. i have 3 playgroups, church, family in town....i'm SO not hurting for company or something to do. but when it's just me i clean and do things for other people and really don't find something to do that's really gonna bring me some joy. like the other day...i left ds with juliebelle and came home to plant my garden. it didn't work out to plant it, but i ended up spending time outside doing some raking and pulling weeds and fixing up the flower beds outside. that brought me great joy...felt so refreshing to be with myself and be productive. so i need to do things like this more...and find more interests even if they're changing all the time. so anyway, hard week and late at night bring on this discontentment, but all in all, i'm doing great!

Hugs stephanie. BTDT and I know the feeling. THe monotony of it all, plus a cranky baby - well your feelings are justifiable and normal. I think that you and Julie should head out one night next week for a little fun!

Girls nights are ALWAYS good..'course y'all are a bit far from me, but I know I bug my girls into it at least every other week..even if it's just starbucks for an hour.
