Postpartum problems...bleeding still @ 3weeks?

nak still bleeding and dd is 3weeks today. it is br. red and sort of heavy, like day 1 of AF. dr not worried, only that my hemoglobin is still sinking...around an 8.6 now. i haven't been able to get it over a 10 since i had a hemmorhage at 13w pregnancy. i also had severe after pains- and at 8 days pp passed a huge clot, fist sized (dh nearly passed out) dr examined, said it may have membrane remnants, but wasnt worried. At 2 weeks, I passed another.

with my other babies I've always stopped the red bleeding at 3-5 days, it gets gradually lighter and disappears at 2weeks. could this be because it's #5? was worried about retained placenta, but pathology thought it was complete + my milk is definately in, it wouldn't be w/ retained piece. what else could cause this?
also...where to find floradix? i can't stomach iron pills, already do blackstrap molasses 2x per day + prenate vit. i'm so dog tired, and i feel like it's starting to interfere w/ my happiness.

any advice? any ways to stop the bleeding?

eta: mind you, there has been no a'hem, "enjoyment" since the 13weeks...i'd really like to get back on that wagon IYKWIM....dh would appreciate it too...

I bled for about 3 weeks or so with all 4 of my kids (and I mean bright red new blood). My doctor was never worried about it. One day it went from heavy af-like bleeding to nothing. I guess it's just the way my body works.

I hope it stops for you soon. I know how aggravating it can be!

{{{{Hugs}}}}Sounds normal to me! I bled like a heavy period even at 3 weeks pp. It stopped around 5 weeks.

I usually bleed for 4-6 weeks. The more I'm on my feet and up and about, the longer it lasts (for me anyway).

Well I know I am just a week PP, but with my other 2 I bleed at various flows and colors for about 5 weeks. This time it is much lighter, probably casue i am so sore from a 3rd c section, I CAN'T tolerate too much movement other than picking up the baby.

I bleed for several weeks. Once, I was worried I wouldn't make it to my 6 wk because I was still bleeding, but it stopped a few days before. Hmmm, don't know what else to tell you though. I passed some pretty big clots but not that big.
Big :hugs:
Love, Carey

This is the case for me as well.

I hope you feel better! I passed a baseball sized clot on Sunday morning, I know how scary that is!

Believe it or not with both kids, exclusively breast fed, I got AF at 4 weeks!

Did it stop and come back? or just continue?
