Okay,
a) who actually has a subscription to Cookie Magazine. I mean, for real, when I first saw that magazine I knew that there was no way on earth that I could have a subscription because the lust factor would simply be too great!
b) I will openly admit that prior to about three years ago I would have said the same thing. I do not think that it is an uncommon sentiment among those that do vaccinate. Nor do I think it is anymore judgemental of them to think that than many things we - as mothers - express about others who do things differently, especially when we are uneducated about the other point of view (and, sorry, but NONE of us are well educated in all points of view of mothering). You know? I don't think that she is being any more judgmental than any of us have been about issues of importance to us. I'm not going to fault her on that. I'm just going to say that she has a different point of view.
c) There certainly is a media campaign (or so it would see to me) to "educate" the public about the safety of vaccinations/silliness of the anti-vax campaign. I'm seeing it in all the various magazines right now.
d) like my opinion or not (and we do not vax), BUT, to a certain extent (and I'm not saying that I agree completely), but I get her POV. I, however, believe that it comes down to *MY* child's well-being vs. that of our overall society. But, I do think that if each and every one of us vaccinated against certain diseases, they would go the way of polio and smallpox (with smallpox obviously being more successful than polio).
And, yes, I await the beat down I'm about to receive.
Still doesn't mean that we *CHOSE* to vax. Because what is in the best interest of the collective is not necessarily in the best interest of the individual and I'm concerned about the individuals in my keeping. You know, when I'm actually a responsible and attentive parent

"Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?
Jesus said until him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And, the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments have all the law and the prophets."
Matthew 22:36-40
