I can totally relate to the "no eating solids til well over a year" camp but I am no help with going to work while this is going on.

The cup may help, if you can pump.....
what about mashed bananas and avocados? My children who waited til later for solids didn't mind the mashy foods at all, even though they could chew bite-sized finger foods...... In fact, they loved mashed banana and avocado and would swallow a lot of that.
