I was actually TESTING you when I said you were needy~to see what might come up for you. It is definitely a theme..that comes up for you. Not wanting to aks for help push/pull...needing it so much, but not feeling comfortable asking for it. THe whole 'my needs were not met as a baby thing?' Maybe you need proof over and over that you won't be rejected when you reach out for help? hmm....

Along these lines..it stood out to me that you DID get help from the ER...and was happy to get help from SOMEONE..so you honored that part of yourself? Maybe a lesson for you is that you need to reach out for help and feel like it is OK?

IS the ear infection directly linked to your dad somehow?(if you ask your intuition?)

its a journey...one day at a time...

so what did they give you in the ER that helped?
You are exactly right -- I felt stupid going to the ER and really thought they would think I was a wimp -- but it felt so good to acknowledge I needed more help than I could give myself. So, yes it was honoring. Last time I went was when I broke my toe when my dad was visiting ... same story - I felt stupid going but also felt empowered going. I really have to clear this ... I don't want to keep getting hurt or ill when he visits!

The obvious connection to my dad:

As a kid I used to get horrible swimmer's ear. I'd wake up in horrible pain and not go in to wake my dad. (I lived with him in the summer). I would wait until the morning until he and his wife got up. I was too embarrassed to wake him up - I felt like it would have been imposing. I remember this happening two times.

Okay, way more work to do. I talk with my eft coach Monday so I'll have lots to clear with her!
