That is great that one of your twins wanted her hair cut anyways. So it really was her idea, not one your had to ummm. "suggest"!!

Claire LOVES her hair being shorter. Now when we introduce them she tells people they can remember her name is Claire because her hair is cut & "Claire" and "cut" both begin with "C". The adults get a real kick out of that one!! Saige didn't get hers cut so her hair is the same. "Saige" & "Same" both start with "S". Saige really felt she needed to have something to say too!!

It has definitely made it much easier for others to tell them apart, but even more imporant is that it is making them feel like individuals. For a long time they wanted to wear the same colour of clothes, then when I said it was easier for others to have them wear different colours, they insisted on wearing the same outfits, but different colours.

When they were little I would dress them in the same outfits sometimes if we had them given to us (like my parents always gave them matching outfits). However they had 3 older sisters so often wore clothes that were equally cute , but different styles & colours. When I did buy them new outfits I would buy the same styles, but different colours. So it was interesting when they were old enough to choose their own clothes that even when I was with one & oldest DD was with the other in the store they girls would choose exactly the same outfit!! When they were much younger then they would usually choose "their" colour. But as they have gotten older they choose different colours so the colour method doesn't work anymore. Plus now they like to wear eachother clothes. They totally messed up their dad!! Before their hair was cut he would identify them based on the colour they were wearing. But soon discovered it didn't work anymore so he was ALWAYS getting them mixed up. He'd get angry because Claire wasn't responding to him...well that was because he was talking to Saige!!! He knows what their slight differences are, but he had to be close to them to tell the difference. Claire has a scar in her eye-brow. Saige has a mole above the opposite eye-brow & Claire does not. Also Claire is slightly heavier & taller and bigger boned than Saige. Saige looks a bit like a pixie or fairy because she is slightly more petite. They were 2lbs difference at birth due to Twin to Twin Transfusion syndrome & I am now quite sure their slight differences will remain through-out their lives.

Good Luck in your sweeties going to school!! It is wonderful that they have eachother!! The twins I had in the kindergarten class got along VERY well. They were actually a great influence on the other kids as they were a good model of co-operation. The teacher had major issues with them though. The boys were VERY smart & ultimately were bored. Basically they would get all their work done & had nothing left to do, so they would wander to another student to help them or they would start to talk to eachother, because they were done. Some kids were just learning their letters and these two kids were already able to read!! I really enjoyed my one on one time with them. Little did I know I would be having my own identical twins some day!!
