Good morning Ladies!
I must have had this thread/forum on notice, because I just recieved one this morning. Hi, to all of you from familiar territory!
I was born at the old Copley Hospital in 1962, when it was on Lake Street near the Police Station. My family lived on Smith Street in Moecherville at the time. We moved when I was about 3, over to Robert Street on the west side and that is where I lived for the rest of my time in Aurora, before we had children and moved back a few years later.
I attended McCleary Elementary, Benjamin Franklin Middle School, Aurora West High (before it was named "South"), then transferred over to the new Aurora West High North Campus. The North Campus has since changed over to the Illinois Math and Science Academy, though I'm not sure if it is still operating.
I haven't been back in Aurora since 1997, to settle my father's estate when he passed. I can't say that I miss Aurora, due to how much it has expanded. All of my childhood memories seem to have disappeared. And, I no longer have any family living there.
