I've always been able to get 30 squares out of one yard. HOWEVER, that is *only* if I'm not fussy-cutting. If I need to get a certain part of the fabric on center (ie eagles or zebras when I was cutting for ABC quilts), then I always buy extra. I'm sorry I can't remember whether I bought a whole yard extra, or only 1/2 yard. I think what I did with the zebras was ask the cutter at Joann's to help me figure it out.

I don't even know why I'm saying this. Because most likely, with a leaf pattern, you aren't fussy-cutting. Right?

Must be due to my increased wordiness of late.
