Well, I live in Missouri. We definately get real winters, and compared to Texas, where I moved here from, the produce is a lot more limited.
Ya know, that's a good question. I guess they kind of take the average. But they do have contributions from all over the country - like a story of a family from San Antonio that doesn't have central heat but it gets just chilly enough in winter to keep the house warm by simmering a pot of beans all day.
