What do the #s mean? (bigger #=bigger needle or is it the other way round?) What do you use commonly for what? I'm really not experienced. I used the same pack of 4 needles for 3 yrs (not a lot of sewing though, really) but now am doing more and should buy more. I have a Singer. Can I only buy Singer needles or do others work, too?

I'm full of lame qs tonight, LOL!
