What a great idea about the sheet in the rubbermaid container! I'm going to have to try that.
Right now we have all of the legos in a big shallow plastic container (like an under the bed box). The shallowness allows my son to be able to find the pieces more easily without dumping.
Can I vent a sec about Lego? I really do not like the direction they are taking. I don't like all the sets. It's like they are trying to make kids less creative or something. And also, why can't they give you some extra pieces so that if you lose one of those teeny tiny hinge or 1X1 pieces, you can still build your robot or boat? Oh well, ds doesn't really rebuild the sets anyway - he likes to combine and make his own thing. When we were kids, I think they only sold boxes of different sized blocks, right? I like that a lot more than spending a few dollars on a few piddly pieces in a set. Ok - vent over. They are great toys, though, and something that ds has continues to play with.
