Not really - but then, there's really no way to tell they *read* it even if they don't "deny receipt" - the receipt only shows when the message was opened on their machine, not whether or not the recipient actually *read* the displayed message. I've run into cases where a relative of the recipient opened the message and deleted it (or so the recipient said), so the intended recipient didn't see it at all.
