Dog therapy needed LOL

a little background- post from the other day

--------------------------------------------------------
Smoothie has had a fear of dh's grill ever since a spatula on the side rack "threatened" him (blowing in the wind).

So this morning I took him out to potty. Big mistake. Dh grilled last night and the grill was still in the middle of the lawn.
I did dog therapy good boy nice grill and then put him on his cord (very long lead that doesn't tangle up about 20ft) so I could move it. Can I just say big mistake again?

smoothie started running around the yard looking for the right smelling spot to go potty this takes a while. I went to set the leash down and as I was coming back towards the grill he walked by it and jangled something on it. Perhaps the dreaded spatula

So I am coming over there still too far to get him because he runs away from the grill and starts running in circles around the yard. The grill is you guessed it tangled in his lead. crap.
He is freaking out and straining trying to get away.

Does he wait for me to get to him? No!
The grill tips over and freaking fountains of ash are billowing up into the air. All the utensils and racks go flying into the air.
He drags the grill across the yard behind him and hides around the corner of the house whimpering. Keep in mind this dog is about 15-16 lbs and shorter than my knee so the spectacle of him dragging this giant thing is a little um.. unusual.

Now the evil grill monster has him so he runs yelping and panting back and forth across the yard dragging this big loudly clanging grill as I am trying to grab him.

oh and church is right across the street and lots of people were outside so I am sure people were wondering wtheck was going on at our house!

I gave up trying to tackle him and went and got dh so he could untangle while I took the dog inside.
By this time Smoothie was very traumatized, panting hard and making all kinds of freaked out doggie noises, he ran to the house as fast as he could when I got his leash on
He has been under my desk napping since then. took a lot out of him
--------------------------------------------------------
ok since this incident he has been fine in the house but is very hesitant to go outside (understatement!)

he did a little better today but still resisted the leash so I carried him so he wouldn't have a potty accident in the house.

He shakes so hard even his jowls shake, poor thing.

My mom suggested putting some hot dogs in the grill while it is unlit and opening it up while holding him and give him a piece or two.

Of course I don't want him too used to the grill!
