same machine here
open the front, flip the letter thingie to C
pull the side lever all the way to the bottom
turn your 1234 knob to 0 and make sure it clicks the second sticky outey part of the stitch finger down when you set it to the circled 1 or 2
take out left needle (don't forget to screw the empty screw down or else it falls out... or, um, so I hear...)
test stitch
