wow, actual plants into the garden??? I'm so jealous! We've got at least 2 more months before it is warm enough for that (and even that is pushing it!).

I'm excited for tomatoes again too though. I hope it is a better year for them than last!

Our early springs are fantastic for greens, which I have out. We just have a short 'hot' season so that stuff is more challenging. Water isn't much of a problem here this time of year LOL! But our July/Aug can be surprisingly dry (that's why people who visit in the summer think we exaggerate the rainy season! LOL)

What varieties did you plant this year? :)

To me, NOTHING is better than a ripe tomato right off the vine. Bit right into it, like an apple. My mouth is watering now.

    Yay! Good for you!

I have a bit of a wait yet. I can't believe I couldn't stand a tomato just a few years ago. Grew them myself and I'm a total tomato fan now. Gosh I love a roma, all chopped up. yum.

I feel the same way about green beans!! I HATED them until I grew my own. I can't believe how much better home grown veggies taste! I thought people were lying to me!

right? I thought they were all lying to me too. Of course, my love of home veggies is certainly influenced by all of the labor to actually grow it too.. I can't stand to waste a morsel of my hard work. lol.

Nice to see a new face in this forum. Welcome! :)

You are planting tomatoes outside, Marina - and I am starting tomato seeds inside.

Normally I would never dare plant any nightshade-family outside before May 25th but this year I am determined to get a fresh tomato in our house by mid-July. Bought several very very early varieites and hoping to 'cheat' by pre-warming the soil, using black plastic mulch, and red 'teepees'.

This just reminds me of those Nintendo cheat codes from back in the day, you had to do them just right or they wouldn't work?

    up, up, down, left, right!

    warm, warm, black, red teepee!
