for dress up. I did use the peasant dress idea - worked amazingly! here is my 10yo in it and my 14yo cousin I underestimated how big the shirt needed to be across for her! she can wear it, but it squishes her. I havent taken any pix of the younger girls in it yet. I made it where the sides tie up for the shorter girls to not trip over the front. decided not to hem it. not b/c i hate hemming, but it looks like it might be ok w/o it. and it IS only dress up. and if it does fray really bad, i can do a hem later. here's a close up of the fabric course, it's white, not the grey it appears in this picture - bad lighting. anyway - it was a TON of fun to make it. it was a really inexpensive project and the girls all love it and want to be first to play in it. dress-up is temorarily closed, though, until they get their room floor cleaned up from the last time they played!
