    Materials~

Large bag (10"x11" finished, good for diapers and/or wet clothing): 22"x12" rectangle of PUL, zipper longer than 12", thread

Small bag (9"x6.5" finished, good for wet wipes, mama pads, travel containers of shampoo ect....): 15"x9" rectangle of PUL, zipper longer than 9", thread

zipper note: I like to use zippers longer than what I need, I find that it is easier to manipulate the placement of the zipper pull this way. I buy grab bags of zippers from fabric warehouses or fabric.com- nylon zippers will be better to use with your PUL wetbag than metal (due to rust risks).

thread note: Poly thread will be a better choice than cotton. I also use a slightly longer stitch length- about a 3 on my machine.

needle note: I use ballpoint needles when working with PUL

    Sewing~

Start by sewing your zipper right sides together to short end of PUL.

Topstitch seam allowance to zipper tape.

Bring bottom short edge up to meet top short edge, right sides together and stitch to zipper.

Fold fabric back to make 'flap' and stitch down zipper tape

It should look like this when zipper is closed

Lay pouch, right sides together, in such a way as to be able to sew side seams- see picture. Sew side seam backstitching at beginning and end. I have to hand crank my machine over the zipper teeth so as to not break the needle.

Do same to other side seam. Clip corners of seam allowances to reduce bulk when flipping right sides out.

    Finished!

    Thanks for sewing along!

do you do anything special for adding fabric outer? or just put the pul and fabric together and treat as one?

Thats what I would do, probably use a bit of KK2000 or 505 spray to help the layers hold together. I've only done this style of bag with printed and solid PUL's thus far though.

You are awesome! I was just planning to make one for myself and one for a friend. I was going to wing it but now I know it will turn out so much better. Thanks!

Excellent! I like that extra flap idea. I'm going to have to use that on some coin purses just to see irl how it goes together.

:smooch: thanks for introducing me to something new
