thanks you guys. I'll pass along your well wishes. I don't know much more yet. Adult children were visiting this week so there's help on the farm for a short while, at least. But only one of them resides in the state.

I'll know more in the morning when I talk to wife mentor. Their youngest's college graduation was tonight so I'm sure her day was nothing but blurry.

He's home, in a wheel chair, and just about as irritated as you can imagine. He's "off feet" for 8 weeks. No cheating. That break was just above the ankle and while there wasn't a skin break, the foot was....*shudder*...dangling.

My dh and I decided that our family is in a place to step up. I've offered to work 3 days a week and my dh has offered to take over the milk delivery day and be available for large equipment operation 1 day a week. My children have offered to take over some of my "chores" at home to make it possible.

I sent it all in an emai, so they could talk privately without being "on the spot" and asked them to sit with it until I report for my normal tuesday hours. Which is tomorrow....so we'll see.

Oh gosh - and what an 8 weeks it is to be off! :hoo: Poor guy must be going through hell in his mind about this.

Your family is so generous and kind to offer the help to them. I am sure that they will be eternally grateful and take you up in any way that they feel you all could help. Every farmer should have someone like you in their life. :heart smirk:

You know my first thought was, he is so lucky that Katie is his mentee! :) You are so kind and giving to do that. I'm so glad he has you! Let us know how it goes today.

Thanks for the love. :heart smirk: I officially got my butt handed to me today. lol! That's ok tho. Fences, miles of water lines, and finding wild MJ growing in the middle of the "grass" pasture just made me start laughing like a 12 year old. It was just so unexpected and nicki, the farm's first daughter, was amused by my townie antics. In my defense, it was high afternoon and the sun was getting to all of us.

Craig couldn't discuss or accept our offer, so he had his wife do it. Too prideful and that's ok. He's up and around on his crutches, kinda. But you can about imagine his mood, being stuck in the house during planting season.

Oh! I somehow, managed to bottle feed three calves (in the same pen) without landing backwards in poo. Not sure how I did that. whew. I did, however, find splattered dried milk all over my face when I used the restroom....hours later. niiice.

Back tomorrow, with my first born son. He'll schlep milk until Brian takes over the deliver route next week. We need to get delivery day moved to Fridays.
