This pay period we decided to really watch what we spent. We have a budget, and we usually stay in it, but we usually use every penny that is allocated for each 'line item' like: groceries, clothing, school, misc. This pay period this is what we have at the end of the pay period: Groceries: allocated $500, have left $54 Clothing: allocated $100, have left $94 School: Allocated $58, have left $38 Misc.: Allocated $200, have left $47 We're going to roll the grocery $ and misc $ into our savings account. I'm keeping the school $ and the clothing $ in envelopes to add to each pay period - so when we need to, we can use them on something we need. Feels good. We've been ruled by the numbers for so long... and now I feel like we are getting on top of them and ruling them.
