BIL came over last weekend and decided to put ant bait out. I told him we don't use it because the chickens will eat it. He said they wont if they don't see him put it out, and he went ahead and put it out. And the chickens ate it.

The chickens are all OK, it didn't hurt any of them. The vet did some checking around for me and said we shouldn't eat the eggs for about a month. So we're having to throw them all away. :wah:

:shake: I'm wondering why he would care about ants, especially after you protested? How strange.

    I'm sorry.

oh man, I'm sorry. Chickens really will eat anything, no matter if they see you put it out or not. chickens used to cluster around my uncle when he was bbqing chicken, they'd eat any that fell. So yeah.

I'm glad they are okay, but what a waste to throw the eggs out! :vent:

((hugs)) Sorry about that mama. :(
