My cousin came over with her baby boy, sitting in a very torn car seat and mentioned that she has to give this car seat back to her sister in low, because she's about to have another baby and she's going to buy a new cover to the car seat and it will cost about 50$...
45 min after, little Adam was sitting in a new car seat :D
I just opened all the seams and traced the pattern, making some new parts with batting and fabric and using the side panels as batting since they weren't torn.

closeup of the fabric (I don't know why, but it reminds me of sperms  )

I hate to be a car seat nazi but that seat is no longer safe. I know that it looks fine but it's too old for one. The buckle does not sit right. Please encourage them to buy a new car seat.

I was actually going to say something about the seat... but then was going to ask if maybe laws and stuff are different in Isreal. Granted it doesn't change the fact that the seat doesn't look to fit right at all though.

You did a great job on the cover though!

Ye, I know she supposed to buy a new seat, but she refuse...
I suggest her to at least replace the belts so I hope she'll do that :nono:

honestly, it was the same thing I felt compelled to post. It's *possible* that just a recover job could maintain the integrity of the carseat, but being 11years old does not. After 5-6yrs a new carseat is in order. Not only the changes in design and safety features, but the plastic of the seat begins to wear down and in an impact the seat could disentigrate.

With carrying such precious cargo as our children, I think some nazi-ing is in order.

I cant actually see the pix, so cant comment on how cute it is, nor how good of a job you did! :(

What a nice job you did recovering that seat!!!! I'll bet it looks even better than a brand new cover would look. And I agree......the pattern looks "spermy" LOL!

you did a super job recovering the seat, but ita with the others. it is not safe to use in a car. maybe it could be used as a safe place to put baby in the house, but please please it's a very dangerous seat to use in a car. :eyes:

he is a cutie!! LOL at the sperm.

ETA: I agree that it is unsafe, mama, but was too chicken to say it. It needs to be a 5 point. It actually looks more like a swing/ carry seat.
    :(

Very cute, and the condtion looks better than most of what I have seen since I moved here. Not that that makes it okay, but I am glad it is a Holy
Land because with the way carseats look and are used here the protection of the children coming from above is very important! Not liking to rely on miracles, I am glad I brought my Britax seats with me ;)
