I know this can be too much foremilk or an allergy. We're on day 3 of green poop and sometimes she seems to be straining. I'm leaning towards allergy to something I'm eating. I've cut out most dairy and switched to soy milk, but it seems to have gotten worse since the switch. Is that possible?

my experience has been that baby is not getting enough of the hind milk. The good fatty milk after the initial fore milk is all gobbled up.(excuse any spelling errors)
I was told to keep baby on one side fully for each feeding, offering the same side for a second round (after burping or a little break), then next feeding, offer the other side.

seemed to do the trick for us.

Many who have dairy allergies also have soy allergies. With taking dairy out, you probably have increased your soy intake which might be causing the issues.

I agree about not having enough of hind milk. I used to have this stupid routine imposed on me by hospital's nursing "specialist" to just time nurising and switch breasts .. so it was insaine.. tilll I red more about nursing on demand and doing one breast till the baby wished to switched and then to offer the other one things were very "green".. but not of a hope green color..

then the nursing habit changed and so things followed for better

but then again one thing that was consistent was that whenever I ate green veggies like spinach or something blue like blueberries then excusively nursed baby's poop turned green.. some sort of color science going on :) blue into green..

try to see if it is consistent with your diet or if your LO is on solids (I did not see the LO specified by you) then maybe you can take it into consideration.

My DD till this day will have green poop after eating greens or blueberries.

    hope this helps.
