Nathan is 13 and we've never used a workbook approach to learning. Recently, I got a couple of workbooks to make life a little easier for all of us: easier for him to know what is expected, easier for me to just give him the work assignment, etc. So he had a list of words that were to be written in alphabetical order. There were about 30 words... but here is an example of what he did. I couldn't stop laughing... I actually had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard. incidental ultra-articulate abbreviation quotation marks syllable (and the list went on....) The instructions said to write the words in alphabetical order... so these were his answers: a) acdeiilnn b) alrtu-aaceilrttu c) aabbeiinrotv d) ainoqttu akmrs e) abelllsy (and the list went on...) He is soooo literal. lol I showed him what he did, told him why it wasn't what they were asking for - and he thought it was pretty funny, too. I love that he has a sense of humor about himself and his little quirks.
