anyone here on etsy/artfire/ebay etc? what camera

    do you love for that?

I don't have a white box because I can't find one local to me and I don't have [or can't find] the right fabric in my stash. So I need to read up on those, but still need camera input.

The camera I'm using is an older Kodak easy share.

    Thanks!

i have a shitty point and shoot that i love. i know a dsr would take far better pictures but i cannot justify the cost. i think good photos are good and its the editing that makes a great etsy/artfire/website sale.

My digital broke, and I cannot afford a good replacement. I would tell you about my broken one (Sony Cybershot), but it's outdated and was only 5.0, so...

I actually use the camera on my cell phone fairly often. Though, if I had to take pics for sales, I would likely try to get my hands on a digital.

I actually bought a digital a couple weeks ago because I needed pictures for a school project, but I took it back because it kept saying the batteries were low! Like every three pictures it would turn off! It was a cheap $59 camera (on sale for $39), but it had a flash and the pictures were pretty good. 12.0 megapixels too. If it had been a rechargable I would have kept it (though not if it still kept saying the battery was dead). That camera was a Vivitar.

I think the Kodak I'm using is a 5.0; my cell phone one is really REALLY bad in good light, but I didn't buy the phone for it's camera either kwim? My friend had an old elph [cannon?] that got a great shot of my hair, but that's not the same thing as jewelery or knit socks or yarn or what have you.

Photoshop came with the computer, and I am adept at using it, at least I was a version or two ago, I haven't photo-edited in a while because it's so hard on my hand. I really need a left-handed mouse.

I think I'll keep an eye open for a good sale or something, because dh's dad's camera that's a p&s is . . 14? or something gets really good shots, the apricot blossom pic he sent was great. He has two cameras though, so I might have to ask which camera got that one. I think one has a different kind of lens, not a dslr, but one of the blendy hybrid ones? You can't exchange lenses but the lens itself is bigger.

problem being that i do have to touch them to make sure my hand can use it, which means if a sale s online and i haven't touched it yet i don't know. *sigh*

I would go to a store and play with the ones they have on display. Figure out which ones would work/fit your hands good, and then go home and look online for the best deals. A dslr isn't as important in taking still life/product shots as it is for portraits IMO - the whole thing can be in sharp focus and look good (hard to get the blurry background on p&s cameras). The biggest thing is lighting. There are tutorials online on how to make your own white box/etc - I'd look into those as well.

One tip from me, don't get one that does not come with a rechargeable battery and a recharging unit/cord!
