wow its all spamless. Chit chat. whats this week/weekend look like

I know I tagged alot of spam and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. It was crazy seeing those old posts bumped up. Nice to see a clean, fresh board.

all pretty and clean and spamless.

    Makes me hungry

    lol

So i thought I'd post a chitter chattery thread. Its Thursday and I have this hugely busy week/weekend ahead. I posted in special needs but we had parent teacher conferences last night for both kids. Went great. They keep bringing up gifted services for Zoey, I keep reminding her that her scores don't qualify her. They have to score a 97 and she only scores like 92, 93 but otherwise she's in all honors classes and she's set for middle school (just not gifted program in middle school)
Romans doing amazingly well, theyre' dropping his 1:1, keeping him in small groups for reading and math but doing honors work with him in small group.
Anyway, this morning I'm seeing the RA/Fibro doc -hoping he's not a butthead and I actually get a dx or at least some tests ordered and a doc i can work with. Tonight I have band rehearsal, tomorrow after work I sing at Celebrate recovery at church with Chelsey, because she's singing there for the first time . And then Saturday is our church Fall Festival and trunk or treat and the band is playing at that too. Plus we'll play two services Sunday. So alot of stuff this weekend and of course Monday is Halloween.
I don't think we've done a what is your kid going to be yet thread either, so I'll start that next

    Have a great day!

I'm desperately busy trying to clear out our farm/farm house in wisconsin (huge yard sale on saturday) and get it rented out. So many things need to sell and it's so much work listing them all on craigslist. I'm going up tomorrow morning and the kids and dh will follow late tomorrow evening. Trying to make meals for the entire weekend now, get all the laundry done, and have food for breakfast monday and kids lunchs for monday ready when we get back late sunday night. And halloween! ack. volunteered to cook for both kids classrooms, need to have that in to school by noon on Monday.

One more Midterm this week + two clinical cases to decipher for Friday, but I am taking mini-breaks on the Internet

Am NOT tagging spam any more (was too much of a co-incidence for my taste), I still do not have all of my posts back

Outside is cool and sunny, just as I like it. Too bad I have to sit and study (well, quite honestly I like to sit and study, but know I need fresh air. However sitting outside does not work - wind blows all my papers).

After learning how to make tinctures in one of my classes - have three going at the same time:
    • St.John Wort (nervine)
    • Olive Leaf (antimicrobial)
    • Guggul resin (very strong anti-inflammatory, can not wait to try it)

Also have a bottle of "Aurveidic Ale" getting the last carbonation kick (made in the same class)

This morning took a Moor Bath (that was a subject in the other class). See here if want to know what it is Moor mud from Europe - Organic Czech and Hungarian Moor Mud products fron Torf: spa treatments, bath, body wraps and skin care. Wholesale, bulk and retail

Nobody's home - just me and the dog. Calm, serene, gentle sun from the outside. Just had a cup of me-made leak/artichoke soup.

Studying for Lab Diagnosis Midterm - urinanalysis + blood tests. Lots of memorization, lots of correlation with results--> diseases, differential diagnoses, false positive/false negatives.

Lets see, I'm at work, then going home to clean up everyone's mess that they made while I was at work
Then tomorrow I don't really have any plans while the kids are at school, and that's a good thing! I am waiting to hear back from my friend about maybe going out to lunch. then at 6 is my ds's basketball tryouts.
Saturday morning is my friend's memorial service
Then Dropping D off for an all day birthday party and then probably taking the big guy and his friend trick or treating somewhere that has it on Saturday
and hitting up a fun festival inbetween
Sunday we are going to take the kiddos to the zoo in Boston (weather permitting)
So it is shaping up to be a very busy weekend, unless Sunday falls thru, then it will be boring and relaxing

Re: wow its all spamless. Chit chat. whats this week/weekend look like

Hi all. Thought I'd stop in for a chat. I miss this place.

Barb, that is so awesome about your parent teacher conferences. You must be so proud. I had not so good of conference with Max's teachers. He is still having a hard time adjusting academically to public school. Socially he is doing awesome and he is happy with his school, so that is great. Just discouraging to see such low grades when he really is trying so hard. Come to find out he was missing a ton of work because he spaces out (feels lost, can't follow the teaching style) and misses the assignments. We don't care about grades but his goal for next term is no missing homework. His teachers have been great about setting up communication with us, which is a great change from the poor attitude and communication I got from his teachers last year.

Irina, I love hearing about your studies. I haven't been able to see my naturapath (Dr. Windstar) because our income no longer qualifies us for the financial assistance. I am happy to use the medicinary though and was just there to pick up a tincture for prevention of miscarriage (vitex, partridge berry, and cramp bark). That moor bath looks AWESOME!

Cathleen, what a sweetie you are cooking all that food for you family. I would be a meanie and make them fend for themselves! Good luck taking care of the rental.

Charlotte, I'm sorry about your friend. The rest of your weekend sounds fun!

As for me, I am pregnant again. After three miscarriages this past year you would think I would be more reserved, but I am hopeful. Time will tell. I found out last week, very early on and am now just over 4 weeks. Already feeling fatigued and nauseous, peeing a lot and my boobies are sore. Just really hoping this one sticks. It sucks to go through the yucky of first trimester over and over again.

The kids are with us this weekend. We are babysitting for my neighbor's two littles Friday night. Not sure what Saturday plans are, but Sunday we'll go for a drive out to our neighbor's cabin where we will drop James off for a week so he can hole up and get to work finishing the first draft of his book.

Jennifer, congrats! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and pray this baby sticks. How awful to lose three pregnancies ever in a life time let alone in one year! I like your optimism.

Irina, glad someone likes to study all that chem stuff! I swear I'm getting a minor in understanding blood chemistry from how often one of us has a draw lately and how much I read the results and ask questions. But always much more interesting to have someone with real skill and interest tell me what they see. Kinda like taro cards or tea leaf reading for the 21st century. I love making tinctures and infused oils, btw, only the mullein tincture brewing at the moment.

Charlotee, I can't quite tell if you want the quiet version of your weekend or the jam packed one. lol!

Barb, very wonderful news about Zoey, too! I had no clue that both of the youngers were so smart! pretty impressive.

Re: wow its all spamless. Chit chat. whats this week/weekend look like

Oh it's so good to hear from you ladies again!!! I miss you all!!!

Things are quiet here. Today is 6 months since my 21 year old daughter's surgery to remove a very large tumor from her pancreas along with her spleen and gallbladder. She's doing GREAT and now I have to find out about getting another CT scan to check everything - but apparently I need to get it from the surgeon who is not on our insurance (it was a rare tumor and the insurance company was GREAT about letting us go out of network for this). I hope we don't have to pay more money!! Yikes!!

Other than that, it's just the same old. We're homeschooling again this year - 6th grade and 4th grade and the big girls are still in college. Lauren is a senior and Nicole is a sophomore but Lauren will have to make up the semester she lost in the spring because of her illness. We're still running our new church campus which was a year old last month and it's been so great. Lots of ups and downs but I couldn't as for better people out there.

As for costumes, we have no idea but it's also my son's 11th birthday! I can't believe he's so big! I came here when he was little and in cloth diapers and I was directed here from the Parent's Place diapering board.
