I want my edit back. If I can edit all of my posts, I will be happy.

I would be happy with this in sisters. I think the members of OTR have stated that board should be wiped clean, but there are a couple MIA folks right now.
Do you think you are able to get our old posts (preNov) linked into search so we may review them and let you know if there is other stuff we would want cleaned as well? This was the big issue after the Nov update and is not solely directed at you. Sometimes we'd link to a fb pic, or post a full name for some reason or another and then edit it out later. Joli took away the way to find it easily, but if we combed back page by page to see the indicator that we had posted in a thread, we could find it that way and edit. Tedious? Yes, but we could still do it. Now, search is still only "recent" stuff and we have to link you to what we want changed. Tempers were already hot at the lack of care Joli had shown the boards (my understanding of the "upgrade" was to get it compliant with advertisers requirements and when it happened and we lost features we knew and loved, people were angry and posting less frequently.

I wouldn't mind seeing sisters go if that is what would make the largest number of members comfortable. Fortunately all the things I wrote the day my son was diagnosed with cancer is saved elsewhere and that was really all I can think of that I would save. If sisters isn't deleted I'd love to have the search index restored and members allowed to edit indefinitely.
Can the edit feature be different from forum to forum or is a board wide setting?

Brad - Can you set the edit function back to full function for a period of time for the entire board? I think if women had the opportunity to use a fixed search feature to find their posts and they could have say a week or two to go through and edit any posts that they feel need to do so then go back to an hour edit in the main forums. I'd suggest there be no edit limit in the private forums but on the main board, after it's cleaned up by the members, I'm sure no one would be as up in arms about the edit thing if it was for posts from here on forward - AND they knew about it.

The possibility of troublemakers posting and then editing their post in an attempt to change the meaning of the conversation is not an issue here as we have the ability to quote what a previous poster said. Around here pot-stirring words get quoted so fast it would make your head spin. Accountability has never been an issue here.

How about having the ability to edit our posts and if we are the started of the thread, how about the ability to delete the entire thread in the personal forums if we choose to. At least the ones that were written BEFORE you took over. NOW that we know we are aware of a new board owner that did not come from among our group (which is fine, but which means there is a different interest than it if was a amity mama itself. JMHO

I would rather have the edit feature work than the whole of Sisters deleted.
This would allow the concerned members of sister to edit out posts that may be worrisome (as we have had the ability to do in the past).Heather Mitchell

I'd really like to see them gone or allow us the ability to edit at free will.
Frankly, if you get this place rocking and sell it, I don't want to be back in this place again.pencils down

This is me, too. I went through a rough time a few years ago before I had Sisters access, and I posted some things I'd prefer to go back and clean up on the Market board (or at least read them to see....I haven't been able to access them for a while so it may not be a big deal once I see the threads).
Again, I feel the ability to edit freely and indefinitely in ALL forums is the key to this.
I am only in Sisters, and would personally be OK if it was wiped clean, however I hear that there are other mamas who don't want to lose all of their content and I think that needs to be respected in some way as well.Mama to 2 sweet girlies :butterfly:butterfly

I think if you were to just wipe out Sisters completely, you might retain a whole lot of members. I don't care at this point. I just want what's best for the community here.

I am ok with what the majority want as far as sisters goes. However, I do like the idea of edit being available better then the option of wiping sisters clean. Like others, I have some posts in there where people gave me recommendations on issues with my kiddos that I like to go back and look over.
I also think having edit back for the whole board is really best overall. Posting in the weight loss forum, FSOT, and thrifting forums really work better with the ability to edit.Annette
