Any kitten knowledgable mamas??
We are getting a kitten in a couple weeks, we actually picked him out when he was a week old. Now he is just about 4 weeks and the people we are getting him from told me that they think he is blind
We still are going to take him
But I went over and saw him again today and he has no pupils, just cloudy blue eyes. He is the sweetest thing!!
What special things do I need to do for him? I already have two cats who are friendly.
p.s his name is Leo (Justin calls him Leo the Power Ranger
) Suzi, Mama to K(18) & J(9)

we have a blind cat also~iris (dh thought that was funny
) anyway, we've never had to do anything special for her. we've moved 2 or 3 times since we got her and she adapted quickly. she would bump into things for a day or so, then figured out where everything was. if we moved her water and/or food, we'd take her to it to let her sniff. it's amazing how independant she is. she even had a litter of kittens very early (accidentally got out) and was a great mom! out of our 3 cats, she's the most loving and calm; don't know if that's b/c of her blindness or her personality. my grandmother was blind for 25 years before she died and still cooked, cleaned and lived alone with my grandfather, so i guess i figured if she could do all that, the cat would be ok. lol
here's a picture of iris :kittypink

Awwww, we just realized that our kitten is deaf. She has adjusted really well, and her sister "protects' her...it's cute.

My SIL has a blind kitten - born without eyes - and she does GREAT. She sits and "looks" out the window all the time. (even when it's closed)
AND, she caught a mouse AND a bat!! :drop: I don't think the blindness has slowed her down at all.

My sister's cat is blind in one eye. He can still see with one though. He does great...his balance sometimes is a little off... but you almost would never know he can only see with one eye!
